Ancient talisman

This necklace looks like something discovered on an archeological site in Peru. The copper wire really brings out the colours in the stone, which is sometimes called copper green opal but is really a kind of chalcedony. The wire is wrapped to make the most of this large stone.

"Copper green opal" chalcedony, patinated 12 and 22 gauge copper wire. Approximately 2 3/8" x 1 5/8" (6 cm x 4 cm).

Elizabethan collar

The shape of this necklace reminds me of the lace ruffs or collars of office worn in the Elizabethan era.

Each link is made individually by me, then the are all joined together into the collar. Time-consuming but satisfying.

Copper, approximately 16 in.
